So I found myself around Victoria station, and I was hungry. I went into Market Hall food market and …let’s see, what do I fancy? Something Mexican, maybe? Mmmmm, yes, Mexican food, yummy. So I went to DF Tacos and got …wait for it … tacos. (Saw that one coming from a mile away, didn’t ya?)

I hadn’t researched DF Tacos before going in, which is good in some ways, maybe not so good in other ways, I suppose. I mean, no research means zero expectations, one way or the other.

So I had the plantain tacos and the hibiscus agua fresca. The agua fresca was absolutely lovely, very refreshing. Apparently, I could have had free refills? Either that only applies to their stand-alone locations, or they didn’t think to inform me. Maybe they thought I knew already. I mean, I would have known, if I had done a bit of research…

The tacos were nice, though the toppings were a bit thin for my taste. There was a bit of an imbalance between the chunky plantain, the drizzle of sauces, and the sprinkle of feta and cabbage salad. There definitely wasn’t enough condiments to offer a counterpoint to the starchiness of the plantain, and I say this as a starch lover. Maybe I should have had the chicken, I don’t know?

So all in all, a nice enough snack in a very handy location, especially if you’re on your way to explore Westminster.
