Stullen is a coffee shop and sandwich bar on Eccleston Street in Belgravia, just a stone’s throw from Poilane bakery. Having opened in April 2023, it’s a fairly new addition to the neighbourhood—and a welcome one.
At a glance...
The Stullen menu offers a tempting selection of sandwiches, most served on sourdough, with a few on focaccia. Given that “stullen” means “sandwiches” in German, the focus here is not really a surprise.
Beyond sandwiches, they offer breakfast pots and salads, as well as pastries and cakes to satisfy those sweet cravings, along with crisps, rice cakes and popcorn for those times when only a crunchy snack will do.
Five of the sandwiches are vegetarian, and two are vegan. They don’t seem to have any gluten-free options, though.
The list of coffees is extensive, and they also offer fruit juices and fizzy drinks. Hot chocolate, too.
Is Stullen expensive? No, prices are pretty reasonable, actually, especially considering the neighbourhood. Sandwiches are between £6 and £9, salads under £9, and coffees are £4 or under.
I tried the Brie and cranberry toastie, which was yummy. The bread was chewy and full of flavour, and the tartness of the cranberry balanced the creamy Brie perfectly.
What’s the space like?
Stullen is a lovely bright space filled with warm, blonde wood accents. There are a handful of tables at the front and some on the pavement outside. A nice, light-filled room with additional tables is located at the back, down a small flight of stairs. This is also where the toilet is.
All in all, a great spot if you’re in the area!
