Kyoto Garden is a small Japanese style garden in the middle of Holland Park in Kensington, complete with a waterfall, a discreet bamboo fountain and a variety of wild life. It’s famous for its peacocks, though, alas!, they were nowhere to be seen on my visit. It’s a popular spot, but if you’re lucky to be there during a quiet moment, I can imagine how peaceful and serene it must be. You’ll find plenty of benches dotted around if you want to stay a while.
And for more Japanese culture, Japan House is nearby, and there’s Tokyo Diner in Soho… And don’t forget Toconoco, hidden away in a tranquil spot by a canal.
